Only real conversions
No page here promises a format we cannot produce. That is why you will not find a long list of exotic container pairs.
The format conversions we support today, and exactly what each one produces.
We list only conversions that are implemented and tested. Video to MP3 when you need the sound on its own; video to GIF when you need a short silent loop somewhere video will not play. If a conversion is not on this page, we do not support it yet — and we would rather say so than fail your job after the upload.

Bitrates, frame rates and colour limits are listed on each tool page before you upload anything.
Trim first, then convert — the GIF tool has range selection built in for exactly that reason.
Most 'convert to MP4' requests are really about the container — the wrapper — rather than the codec inside it. A MOV and an MP4 can hold exactly the same H.264 video and AAC audio; only the wrapper differs.
When the codecs already match a target, changing container is nearly free and lossless. When they do not, a real transcode is required, and quality is always affected. Knowing which case you are in tells you whether to expect a two-second job or a two-minute one.
Not as a dedicated conversion yet. In practice, running a MOV through the compress or resize tool returns an MP4, because both write MP4 output.
Video to MP3 and video to animated GIF. Compression and resizing also normalise their output to MP4.
Because we only publish pages for conversions the backend actually implements. Listing formats we cannot deliver would waste your upload.
